On parity-odd sector in metric-affine theories

چکیده
We undertake the construction of quadratic parity-violating terms involving curvature in four-dimensional metric-affine gravity. demonstrate that there are only 12 linearly independent scalars, plus an additional one can be removed by using Pontryagin invariant. Several convenient bases for this sector provided both components and differential form notation. also particularize our general findings to some constrained geometries like Weyl-Cartan metric-compatible connections.

Metric-affine f(R) theories of gravity
General Relativity assumes that spacetime is fully described by the metric alone. An alternative is the so called Palatini formalism where the metric and the connections are taken as independent quantities. The metric-affine theory of gravity has attracted considerable attention recently, since it was shown that within this framework some cosmological models, based on some generalized gravitati...

Universal Field Equations for Metric–affine Theories of Gravity
We show that almost all metric–affine theories of gravity yield Einstein equations with a non–null cosmological constant Λ. Under certain circumstances and for any dimension, it is also possible to incorporate a Weyl vector field Wμ and therefore the presence of an anisotropy. The viability of these field equations is discussed in view of recent astrophysical observations.

Blaizot We calculate the quarkonium dissociation rate in the P and CP-odd domains (bubbles) that were possibly created in heavy-ion collisions. In the presence of the magnetic field produced by the valence quarks of colliding ions, parity-odd dom...

We consider the topological susceptibility for an SU(N) gauge theory in the limit of a large number of colors, N → ∞. At nonzero temperature, the behavior of the topological susceptibility depends upon the order of the deconfining phase transition. The most interesting possibility is if the deconfining transition, at T = Td, is of second order. Then we argue that Witten’s relation implies that ...
